An American citizen originally from South London, Matt Davis is inspired by scrappy, motivated, ambitious people. He recently returned to London after winning a bunch of awards over six years in the United States.
Davis has freelanced all over the place and co-edited an eating and shopping to New Orleans. Freelance highlights include work for The Guardian, People Magazine, Agence France Presse, Salon.com, TheAwl.com, The Times-Picayune, The Independent, and Time Out London.
Davis has a photographic and banking background and rose from unpaid intern to news editor of alternative weekly paper The Portland Mercury in Oregon between 2006 and 2010. He is also credited as the writer of the documentary film Alien Boy, about the life and death of James Chasse, a man with schizophrenia, at the hands of the Portland Police Bureau in 2006.
