Vacation Playlist

I’ve been in New Orleans since June 2, and been working non-stop. Since arriving here, I’ve made some deadlines, made some contacts, made some money, and more importantly, made some great friends. Also just now, I’ve landed an exciting full-time reporting job!

More on this when I return from a few days off, listening to songs that have all been the soundtrack to my fantastic summer here in New Orleans.

Thanks to the wonderfully-named Hypster music player, you can enjoy them too. I’ve put the tracklist after the tape. Happy late August, everyone. These are the very special-est days of summer, indeed.

Congratulations on the new gig, and greetings from now-sunny Portland.

I was recently perusing the New Yorker archives, and came across John McPhee’s grand environmental piece on your new delta. Thought you might be keen on it, assuming you’ve not already read it — I think it is rather well-known to many, just wasn’t to me.
