I now know categorically where I would choose to do it. For sheer concentration alone:
Johannesson also has a creative idea for dealing with any cars that do choose to drive down the street. He’ll put Alberta’s famous clowns to work, ferrying cars through the pedestrian traffic with tall bikes.
Splutter. Cough.
> … ferrying cars through the pedestrian traffic with tall bikes
On Hawthorne that doesn’t even require a special day.
screw the clowns, but last thu and first thu should both be auto free. after we screw the clowns, we screw the cars.
Matty-Matt…
I would like to drop that nuke on the Edge of Belmont. AN HD TV that plays sports and yet no real seats to watch it…?
Of course, that won’t be needed as if history is a lesson, it has about 6 months left. How was the the event?
I agree, Julian. This sounds more like a plotline for a revival of the Britcom The Young Ones than a viable ongoing project. In fact, I can hear Adrian Edmondson yelling “And suppose we want to play Monopoly? ‘Go directly to plate’? ‘Do not pass plate, nailed to the table by a stupid hippie’?”
I see you’re still enjoying life as an imitator of a typical grumpy old man, who hasn’t let go of “the good old days.”
Yes, your comment is both juvenile, pointless and cranky. In other words, when you pick on stupid things in an even stupider fashion, it gives those things more credence.
Great job, Matt!
…and I was waiting for the “cranky old man” comment. Let’s face it: Portland isn’t a city. It’s an experiment by extraterrestrials who beamed up the contents of a touring carny and a science fiction convention, told the kidnappees “Go forth, multiply, and build a civilization,” and then sat back to watch the fun.
TTR: Yawn.
Yep, sounds about right. Keep reaching for that rainbow, Clown, and I hope the unlawful termination settlement never runs out.
hey remember that time you DIDN’T LINK TO YOUR OWN PAPER‘s coverage?
it’s okay, I forgive you, I imagine you’re trying to stay away from Blogtown on vacation.
Shit. Sorry smirky.
Well I went up there for the first time tonight. I don’t ever really want to go back. I did not like it at all. Still, I don’t see a need for me to trash the people that want to go there and enjoy it. What’s the point of that? Everyone has to do exactly the same things I do?
Around 8pm, the people really took over the road and there were hardly any cars at all.
